about.

I'm Sarah Jane Dunaway, a creative director, brand strategist, designer and writer with more than two decades of experience helping organizations communicate clearly and creatively.

My background is intentionally multidisciplinary. I studied advertising and graphic design at the University of Alabama and earned a master's degree in journalism and a graduate certificate in photography from Harvard University.

I've worked across architecture, real estate, finance, healthcare, law, higher education, fundraising and mission-driven organizations, both independently and within larger marketing teams.

That range has shaped how I work: I don't believe strategy, writing and design should exist in separate rooms. The strongest work happens when they inform one another from the beginning.

Today, I lead development marketing and communications for the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation while continuing to take on select consulting and creative engagements.

Based in Annapolis, Maryland. Working with organizations wherever the work takes me.

I’m a creative director who understands both the big picture and the details.
