Reflection

I was especially excited for this particular assignment, and getting to focus more on the context of the photograph versus the mechanics. Of course, not being able to edit or delete any of the images in the series made is quite difficult! I truthfully retook this series several times—changing locations within the Petra park, as well as to test different settings on the camera. In the series though, I did take all 10 images without moving my feet, and in a row per the directions. I chose to photograph Petra as I was already in the area, but although thought it would be a fun personal challenge to take different images than what is normally captured in Petra, as it is a very popular tourist destination. I thought it would be fun to challenge myself to take images of something other than family, the Treasury Building in Petra, as well as camels. But, I did capture a few camels as they make great subjects and they’re fun to capture. The lighting in the park was the biggest challenge for me, which I think is probably obvoius in the ISO settings that turned up! Because of the sharp contrast between the shade and light in Petra, it was hard to gather a range of photos, without deleting them or altering the lighting in post-production.
